Ratings Results of Interest: On Sunday, HBO’s Westworld aired its second Season 2 episode and it ratings slipped to a 0.72 score based on same day viewing for the 18-49 demographic with 1.9 million total viewers. Its second season premiere was down from its first year numbers last week and this represents yet another drop for the show. But the premium cable service takes into account encore viewings for the night as well as streaming, and that should bump it up to respectable viewership numbers for a cable series in the Peak TV environment. But at $10 million or more per episode, will this be enough? If the show continues to trend down in coming weeks, I might have to reconsider its status, but for now I believe it is okay.
Over on AMC, Fear the Walking Dead slipped to a 1.0 rating with 2.7 million total viewers for the night. But it was the highest rated cable show on Monday and it is still performing better than its third season, so I believe this one is on track for a fifth year renewal. In the lead-out hour, Into the Badlands held mostly steady at a 0.44 rating with 1.3 million total viewers. Over on FOX, The Last Man on Earth improved slightly to a 0.7 rating with 1.8 million total viewers. And on NBC, Timeless improved to a 0.6 score with 2.5 million total viewers. Both of those shows could still use a Call to Action from their fans.

On Friday, Once Upon A Time improved to a 0.5 rating with two million total viewers while Agents of SHIELD remained low at a 0.4 rating with 1.7 million total viewers. The latter show has already been cancelled while AoS is still clinging to the chance that it could come back for a sixth season. A push from fans on the social nets could improve its chances.
