Cancellation Watch: The Crossing Slips, Timeless Remains Low

Ratings Results of Interest: On Monday, ABC’s new series The Crossing slipped to a 0.8 rating based on same day viewing for the 18-49 demographic with 4.5 million total viewers for its second episode (based on the preliminary numbers). I missed covering this one’s debut in my Saturday ratings post, but then apparently quite a number missed it as it managed only a 0.9 rating. With enough fan support and if the ratings do not slip any further, there is a slight chance this one could survive to a second season. But I would not give it very good odds at this point. Over on The CW, Legends of Tomorrow held even at a 0.4 rating with 1.4 million total viewers for its season finale. That one has already been renewed for a fourth season.

On Sunday, AMC’s The Walking Dead improved to a 2.8 rating with 6.7 million total viewers.  Expect that one to get another bump with next week’s season finale.  Over on Starz, Ash vs. Evil Dead slipped just a bit to a 0.06 rating with 136K total viewers.  That show’s numbers have remained low in its third season and it is currently On the Bubble.  Over on NBC, Timeless remained low at a 0.6 rating with 2.5 million total viewers and it will need a strong Call to Action from fans to get it to a third season.

On Friday, ABC’s Agents of SHIELD improved slightly to a 0.6 rating with 2.1 million total viewers and its chances of sticking around for a sixth season are looking better.  Both Once Upon A Time and MacGyver held even with their numbers from the prior week. I covered the early week ratings on Saturday at this link and you can see the full ratings results for the week at this link.
