Word broke yesterday that the time travel series Travelers will be returning for a third season. That show has been a joint production between the Showcase channel in Canada and Netflix, and its first two seasons debuted up north before running on the streaming service. But now the show will become exclusive to Netflix where it will stream worldwide. That show has developed a very devoted following, and has had decent viewership on Showcase, though it apparently dropped off some in its second season. Netflix does not share its viewing numbers, so I am not certain how it has performed there. But apparently it has drawn enough viewership for the streaming service to elect to bring it back for a third year. It’s second season became available for streaming on Netflix in December 2017 and the third will probably hit about the same time in 2018.
Travelers follows a group of people from the future who have travel back in time to the present day to avert events that will lead to a worldwide apocalypse. It comes from Stargate alum Brad Wright and stars Eric McCormack, MacKenzie Porter, Nesta Cooper, Jared Abrahamson.
