Cancellation Watch Breaking News: The Librarians Cancelled by TNT, But It Will be Shopped Around

TNT’a fantasy series The Librarians will not be coming back for a fifth season on that network according to a tweet from the show’s executive producer Dean Devlin.

That show’s ratings were down in its fourth year, but the news still comes as somewhat of a surprise.  The Librarians has a very dedicated fanbase that keeps the show trending on Twitter, and its ratings were still okay for a cable series these days.  But the network is going through a period of rebranding, and apparently they decided the veteran show did not fit in as well with their new look (The Last Ship is also rumored to be on the chopping block after its upcoming fifth season).  Devlin has indicated that he will be shopping the show to other venues, and now is the time for fans to support it on the social networks.  Following the example of the current StargateNow initiative as well as the fan efforts to save Timeless last year, a strong Call to Action from fans can go a long way to making it more attractive to other networks.
