Unless otherwise noted, the ratings numbers below are based on the final overnights and may vary slightly from the preliminaries reported on the Cancelled Sci Fi Twitter Site.
Renewal Announcement: Crackle announced this week that their animated superhero parody series SuperMansion will be returning for a third season. The news comes as no big surprise because the show’s first year has been performing well in an encore run on Adult Swim as it has taken the reverse path from streaming to linear viewing. That show, which has Bryan Cranston voicing the lead character Titanium Rex, is currently streaming its second season which will be wrapping up in May. The thirteen-episode third season will debut at some point in 2018 and I would expect the second season to show up on Adult Swim later this year.
Ratings Results of Interest: On Tuesday, Agents of SHIELD posted a 0.8 rating based on the overnights for the 18-49 demographic with 2.4 million total viewers, its best numbers since January. That show has been trending up since returning from its second hiatus, and word is that it has a decent chance of coming back for a fifth (and possibly final) season. On Wednesday, The Expanse improved some to a 0.18 rating with 580K total viewers for its season finale while The Magicians had a 0.27 score with 670K total viewers to wrap up its season. Both shows will be returning in early 2018. On Thursday, Powerless improved to a 0.6 rating with two million total viewers, but that will likely be far too little to help it at this point.
Charts: Only MacGyver made it into the charts last week as it improved to a the Number 16 slot (up from Number 21) for its season finale. There probably will not be much chart activity over the next few weeks unless a few shows manage to slip in with their season finales. Once Fear the Walking Dead returns for its third season in June, though, I expect to see it back in the charts.
