This is a pretty busy mid-season week for sci fi & fantasy shows with one premiere, several returns, and several more season finales. On Wednesday, Syfy’s The Magicians has its second season premiere. Starting on Monday, The CW superhero shows as well as Supernatural return from their Winter breaks. Note that Legends of Tomorrow will be moving to the Tuesday 9 PM EST post-The Flash hour and Supernatural will be shifting one hour on Thursdays to an 8 PM EST start. For those interested, the Archie comic re-imagining series Riverdale has its debut on Thursday on The CW at 9 PM EST. That show, which looks to be going for a Hardy Boys / Nancy Drew mystery angle, may have some genre elements, but I don’t plan on tracking it here unless I unless I hear that it takes a heavy move in that direction. As for season finales, this week we have three, all of which come on Wednesday: Frequency (CW), Salem (WGN), and Incorporated (Syfy).
