More premieres this week including the one that everybody is waiting for as we (hopefully) find out who was at the wrong end of Negan’s bat when The Walking Dead has its Season 7 premiere. Also this week, Vampire Diaries returns for its eighth and last season, Black Mirror starts up its new season on Netflix, and Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency has its bow on BBC America. I had previously indicated that the Doctor Who spin-off Class was premiering this week on BBC America, but apparently its debut is limited to Britain for now. It is scheduled to get over to the States in early 2017. Also this week, MTV’s Scream has a special two hour Halloween episode on Tuesday (that one has also learned it will return for a third season) and FOX’s Rocky Horror Picture Show remake drops on Thursday. Plus, Syfy throws in another of their cheese-fests on Saturday with Shadows of the Dead. Next week, for the first time in a while, there will be no premieres for sci fi / fantasy shows (unless there is something I missed). So that is a bit of a respite, but there will still be close to 40 active shows, including Hulu’s Freakish and Netflix’s Black Mirror and Luke Cage.
