The CW is kicking off its Fall season this week (though not with all its shows as I incorrectly indicated last week) with the premieres of The Flash (Season 3), Arrow (Season 5), and Frequency (new series). Also premiering this week is NBC’s time travel series Timeless. That brings the number of active sci fi & fantasy shows to 30 and there are six more premieres set for next week (you can see the full Fall schedule at this link). If you are keeping up with all these shows, I want to know when your are finding time to sleep! This week also brings another Syfy Saturday cheese-fest with Day of Reckoning. The description for that one in the TV Guide Listings reads as follows: “A mediocre husband and father rises to the challenge of saving his family when Earth is invaded by demon-like creatures.” Additional notes on this week’s schedule: Son of Zorn will be a repeat this coming Sunday (which will do nothing to help its falling ratings) and The Last Man on Earth will be preempted that same night for the second round of presidential debates.
