Also announced yesterday at Comic Con, MTV’s Teen Wolf will be ending with its upcoming sixth season. Its sixth year will comprise twenty episodes which will get it to a total of one hundred, with the last acting as its series finale. The announcement does not come as a huge surprise based on the show’s declining audience. I thought it might go into a seventh season, but that was the max number of seasons I expected from it and considered it just as likely to end with its sixth. The current episode order will be more than enough to assure that the show will live on in syndication which is where it will really start to turn a profit. It will likely be broken up into two half seasons like the network has done the last few years, so expect new episodes to air through late 2017 or possibly early 2018. The first half of season 6 will have its bow this coming November.
There could be more renewal / cancellation announcements coming out of Comic Con–Wynonna Earp and Stitchers fans are eagerly awaiting word on their shows–so be sure to keep an eye on this site and the Cancelled Sci Fi Twitter Site for any breaking news.
