Not too much development news the last couple of weeks for sci fi / fantasy television, but there have still been a few announcements of note plus a couple of updates.
The Mist
Network: SpikeTV

Status: Pilot Ordered
About: “The series tells a harrowing story about a seemingly innocuous mist that seeps into a small town and creates havoc.” Source: Deadline Hollywood
Comments: Based on the book by Stephen King which was previously adapted to the big screen by The Walking Dead‘s Frank Darabont. Spike will be looking at adding this to their slate either late 2016 or early 2017.

Prototype
Network: Syfy

Status: Pilot Ordered.
About: “Prototype centers on three unlikely cohorts who inadvertently stumble upon an invention that challenges the very nature of quantum physics – a discovery which in turn puts their lives in grave danger.” Source: Blastr
Comments: This project is in the early stages of development, but Syfy has ordered a pilot for the series and will likely be considering it for their 2017 schedule.

Halcyon

About: “Halcyon is a police procedural series set in 2058 and focuses on a future world where virtual reality is as ubiquitous as smart phones are today. Comments: Fifteen episodes of this series have been ordered. According to THR, “The series will comprise 10 episodes to view on Syfy linear channels around the world, along with their Syfy websites, while five VR episodes will be offered on the Oculus Rift platform.”

Perfect Bones

Comments: This animated series comes from Production I.G., the company that previously brought us anime works such as Attack on Titan, Ghost in the Shell and Blood: The Last Vampire. The series will likely hit the streaming service later this year or early 2017.

Comments: This series is being produced for South Korean television and will be aired internationally (I assume with subtitles) on Viki.

Comments: We have already known about this series for a while, but an official synopsis has finally been released (see above). ABC will be considering this as an addition to their 2016-17 schedule. Comments: This previously announced time travel comedy from The Last Man on Earth EPs Phil Lord and Chris Miller has now received an official title. FOX will consider this for the 2016-17 schedule.
