Unless otherwise noted, the ratings numbers below are based on the final overnights and may vary slightly from the preliminaries reported on the Cancelled Sci Fi Twitter Site.
Last Thursday, USA’s Colony (about an alien occupation of Earth) debuted at a 0.44 rating based on the overnights for the 18-49 demographic with 1.4 million total viewers. Those weren’t spectacular numbers, but still passable for a cable series these days. That network’s Mr. Robot hovered around that same range last year and it got renewed, so Colony has a chance of a second season if it doesn’t start to drop off too much after its first episode. This one is definitely a high profile series for USA because it has Lost veterans Josh Holloway and Carlton Cuse attached and it is the first full-on original sci fi series on the network since it cancelled The 4400 and The Dead Zone back in 2007 (Mr. Robot is more high-tech drama and last year’s Dig was more of a conspiracy/spy themed show). We will have to see how Colony tracks across its next few episodes to get a better idea where it stands, but it looks okay at the moment.
There were several big announcements last week including NBC’s cancellation of Heroes Reborn, FOX’s renewal of Scream Queens, and Netflix’s renewal of Jessica Jones. And I covered the ratings results of the early week shows plus the broadcast network and cable scorecards at this link.

Its mid-season return held steady with its last episode from Fall which was not too bad considering it didn’t have much of a lead-in. But I’m betting The CW execs would like to see higher numbers from this one.

Apparently last week was the season finale for this show (I thought it had one more episode to go), and its numbers did improve some. It has already been renewed for a sixth season, but you have to wonder how much more life this one has in it with its dwindling audience.

This one saw a notable drop with its second episode and it is well below the other entries in the CBS two-hour Thursday comedy block. That network is not known for having patience, especially with genre entries.
Chart Activity: This show barely clung to the broadcast network Top 25 based on total viewers, slipping to the Number 25 slot (down from Number 21).
