Prime Time Sci Fi TV: Jessica Jones and The Man in the High Castle Premiere This Week

Weekly roundup of science fiction and fantasy shows (as well as movies/specials of note) on the Prime Time TV schedule, also including programs that may be of interest to genre fans. Air dates and times subject to change without notice.

There are no new premieres among the Prime Time shows this week, but two highly anticipated genre entries bow on the streaming services on Friday. Netflix’s Jessica Jones brings us the second entry in the Defenders series (the first was Daredevil, and Luke Cage will be up next). And on Amazon, the first season of The Man in the High Castle (based on the Phillip K. Dick book and produced by Ridley Scott and Frank Spotnitz) will have its bow. The pilot for that series is available for viewing now (at this link) for those who want a preview of what is coming. Also of interest, on Saturday the holiday movie special Jim Henson’s Turkey Hollow has its bow on Lifetime. It comes from The Jim Henson Company, so it may be worth a look for those seeking some family friendly holiday fun. And on Sunday, Once Upon A Time gets preempted setting up even more preemptions for the Thanksgiving week. The season resumes the following week with many shows having their Fall finales.
