Prime Time Sci Fi TV: Premieres of Supergirl, Ash vs. Evil Dead, The Librarians, and More; Plus the Sleepy Hollow / Bones Cross-Over

Weekly roundup of science fiction and fantasy shows (as well as movies/specials of note) on the Prime Time TV schedule, also including programs that may be of interest to genre fans. Air dates and times subject to change without notice.

The Prime Time scheduled gets even more crowded this week as five shows have their bows which includes new entries Supergirl (CBS) and Ash vs. Evil Dead (Starz) as well as returning shows Grimm (NBC) and The Librarians (TNT). Among this group also is The Returned on Sundance which begins its second season, but it is not be confused with the show of the same name that aired on A&E last Spring and was cancelled after one season. This is the French series (known as Les Revenants in that country) and it is subtitled in English.  It is a well-regarded international series and A&E’s version was based on this one (as was ABC short-lived Resurrection).  On CBS, Supergirl‘s debut will be preceded by a special episode of The Big Bang Theory to give the new series a boost and then next it will resume its regular 8 PM EST timeslot where it will go head to head with FOX’s Gotham (which is struggling in the ratings this season).  Also of note, Sleepy Hollow has its cross-over episode with Bones this week while Scream Queens will get preempted on Tuesday due to the World Series.  And freeing up one hour on the schedule is El Rey’s From Dusk Till Dawn The Series which will have its second season finale (no word yet on a third year).
