Prime Time Sci Fi TV: Continuum Has its Series Finale, Saving Hope Begins its Run on ION

Weekly roundup of science fiction and fantasy shows (as well as movies/specials of note) on the Prime Time TV schedule, also including programs that may be of interest to genre fans. Air dates and times subject to change without notice.
For the first week since the Fall season began, there are no premieres, but that’s probably a good thing because there are quite a number of shows airing at the moment. And freeing up one hour is Syfy’s Continuum which will have its series finale on Friday. And for those interested, Canadian supernatural drama Saving Hope begins its run on ION this week. This show has followed a similar path to The Listener in that each originated as a CTV entry and each aired its first season on NBC in the Summer (2011 for The Listener, 2012 for Saving Hope). The U.S. ratings were pretty low and NBC passed on both after their first seasons. But they continued to air up north and ION previously picked up The Listener to air its full run (five seasons) and now has Saving Hope on its schedule (four seasons and counting). The network is going back to the show’s beginning and it will air one episode of week on Tuesday nights at 11 PM EST. Of most interest to sci fi fans is the fact that Stargate veteran Michael Shanks is in the lead role as the spiritual presence that wanders the halls of his hospital. And one more note for the week, Syfy’s latest cheese-fest They Found Hell airs on Saturday. This one has no shark-laden tornados or ghastly critter hybrids (in the title at least), but here is the description in case you are interested: “College students who accidentally opened a portal to another dimension find themselves trapped and hunted by the denizens of hell.”
