With the Fall season now upon us and quite a number of shows debuting/returning over the next few weeks (you can see the full schedule at this link), each week I will give you a chance to guess the ratings performance of the premiere of one show. This week it is the revival series Heroes Reborn (NBC, Debuts Thursday 8 PM EST) which revisits that franchise five years after it ended on a cliffhanger with its Season 4 finale. The original series came in on the wave that followed Lost‘s surprise success, and it was a phenomenon in its first season making it into the Top 20 shows for the year. But each season after that its ratings declined and by its final year it was averaging in the low 2’s (bad for that time) based on the overnights for the 18-49 demographic. The ratings decline correlated directly to the drop in quality of the show following its first season, but the show is still looked upon fondly by those who remember the promise it demonstrated early on. For that reason, I personally believe the debut will pull strong numbers, though the series may taper off if it doesn’t return to the feel of the show’s first year. Its initial numbers will be crucial because all shows tend to trend downward after their debuts and this show could see a big drop because a lot of curious onlookers will likely tune in for the first episode. Below are the ranges for you to vote on, and I have given you a gauge for where the show would stand within each of those ranges. So cast your vote and be sure to keep an eye on the Cancelled Sci Fi Twitter Site on Friday for the early returns.
