Prime Time Sci Fi TV: This Week on Syfy – Premieres of Geeks Who Drink, Reactor, and . . . Sharktopus vs. Whalewolf

Syfy rolls out its two new genre talk shows Geeks Who Drink and Reactor this week on Thursday as they make another attempt at meta shows that will attract sci fi fans (last years The Wil Wheaton Project didn’t pull great ratings, but it was plenty of fun).  And to get things warmed up for next week’s Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!, they will be rolling out a trio of lurid-titled, shark-infused, cheese-fests:  Roboshark, Mega Shark vs Kolossus, and Sharktopus vs. Whalewolf (the latter film staring Casper Van Dien). I understand that the Emmy nomination team will be keeping a close eye on that network over the next week . .  .

Apart from that, it is pretty much business as usual for the Summer shows, but that’s quite a lot of business with 24 (!) genre entries currently airing.
