TV Insider just broke the news that NBC’s cancelled Revolution will get a series finale of sorts in the form of a four-part digital comic wrap up which will be written by the show’s original writers. The series producers and Warner Bros. have put this together with DC comics as an effort to resolve at least some of the storylines from that show’s two seasons. According to creator Eric Kripke:
While, unfortunately, we simply can’t make more episodes of the show (alas, there are financial realities we can’t overcome), we can do the next best thing. Which is end the story. On our terms. Exactly the way we would have.
Angel Hernandez is providing the artwork and the the writing team includes David Reed and Ryan Parrott. The first chapter will be loaded to www.comicbook.com on May 4th with the three subsequent installments appearing at two week intervals. It seems like this will probably be four and done for the comic book series, but perhaps it will also open the door for an ongoing continuing in that format.
So Revolution fans, what do you think? Does this count at least as a consolation prize in your attempts to get the show relocated to another network?
