Anybody who thought that The Walking Dead‘s glory days were behind it when it took a fall in the ratings after its mid-season premiere can think again. Not only have its numbers gone back up, but it continues to dominate on television. That show improved to the Number 1 spot in the Nielsen Twitter Ratings for this past week (after a solid run in the Top 5) and it was at Number 1 (like usual) on the cable chart based on total viewers and Number 1 (like usual) on the General Sentiment chart which tracks social network activity relating to the live broadcast. In addition, if you were to combine the broadcast network and cable charts based on the ratings in the 18-49 demographic, The Walking Dead would top (by a good margin) that as well. So there’s now slowing down for this one just yet (and the spin-off is on the way this Summer).
As for the other charts, The Last Man on Earth fell out of the broadcast net Top 25 based on the ratings with its second episode, but not too far out as it probably landed at about the 26th or 27th slot. Person of Interest was running a repeat, so it disappeared from the broadcast net total viewers chart. And its totals were down this week, so it may not make it back when the current numbers are tallied next week. The General Sentiment chart for the broadcast nets was rather slim on genre entries largely because most of The CW’s shows (which typically perform well there) were in repeats. Agents of SHIELD did manage to register there with its return from its long hiatus, though. And The Last Man on Earth dropped out of that chart also for its second episode after ranking in the lowers rungs last week with its premiere.
