In last week’s tally of the charts, FOX’s Gotham fell out of the broadcast network Top 25 based on ratings for the first time this season while airing a new episode. But in this week’s tally, it managed to creep back in to the lowest rung at Number 25. That episode had only a 1.8 rating, though, definitely a testament to the current ratings slump when numbers that low can get a show in the Top 25. Gotham should remain on the charts next week because its latest episode improved to a 2.1 score. On the cable channels, The Walking Dead continued to top most of the charts it appeared despite its notable drop for its second mid-season episode (more on that at this link). It was the most watched show on cable for the week and also topped the General Sentiment chart that track social network activity for cable shows. And it was at the Number 4 rung in the Nielsen Twitter Ratings. Also making a return appearance to the Nielsen Twitter charts was The CW’s Vampire Diaries which made it to the Number 6 spot. That’s the first time that one has been on that chart since its season premiere back in Fall. I don’t follow that show, so I’m not certain if there was something major that occurred in the episode that drove up activity (it’s ratings for that episode remained at a season low). I’m sure it Nielsen were to publish the Top 25 or more from that list that we would see Vampire Diaries there more often (it is a mainstay on the General Sentiment charts), but this is its first appearance in the Top 10 in months.
