Only two sci fi / fantasy shows have been in the broadcast network Top 25 based on ratings in the 18-49 demo the last few weeks–ABC’s Once Upon A Time and FOX’s Gotham–and those two were slipping precariously close to the edge at one point. But their ranking has improved the last two weeks with the former series rising to the Number 11 slot and the Latter coming in at Number 14 for the week. Interestingly, Once Upon A Time went up in the charts even though its ratings slipped one tick from the prior week, but the numbers were skewed a bit last week due to the preemptions and reruns on Tuesday because of election coverage. Next week Gotham will likely slip because its numbers dropped some on Monday, but I still expect to see both shows remain in the Top 25 through their Fall finales. CBS’ Person of Interest went MIA on the total viewers chart for the week, but that’s because it was preempted last Tuesday. And several other shows from that night dropped off the General Sentiment chart tracking social network activity for the broadcast net shows, again because of preemptions and reruns. The Walking Dead and American Horror Story continued their reign on the cable and social network charts and I don’t expect them to drop off any time soon. And Doctor Who landed at the Number 2 slot on the General Sentiment chart tracking social net activity for cable shows with its Season 8 finale.
