Prime Time Sci Fi TV: Not Too Many Treats Planned for Halloween Week Beyond a Very Buffy Halloween

All the season premieres are behind us now, so this week offers just the usual slate of Fall shows, and none are in repeats yet.  Halloween is on Friday, but I don’t see too much to celebrate that beyond the usual horror movie marathons.  Pivot is doing a “Very Buffy Halloween” marathon starting on Monday and FXX is doing a Simpsons “Treehouse of Horror” marathon starting tonight.  And ABC will rerun It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown on Thursday.  Apart from that, not too much else that is Halloweeny.  Possibly of interest tonight on Animal Planet is Monsters Behind the Iron Curtain which looks at myths and legends from the former Soviet Union countries.  That could be interesting if the “surprisingly human” channel doesn’t go overly sensationalist like Discovery did with most of its Shark Week specials.  Also tonight, over on the National Geographic Channel is Mammoths Unearthed which could be worth a look.  On Saturday, Syfy delviers the latest of its cheese-fests with Disaster L.A. for those interested in checking that out.
