Chart activity for sci fi / fantasy TV shows for the week of April 7th through 14th:
HBO’s Game of Thrones may slipped a bit with its ratings for its second episode, but it rose in relation to most other shows on television as it moved to the Number 1 spot on the cable Top 25 based on total viewers. Last week, the series bowed in that chart at the Number 4 slot, but it had NCAA basketball to contend with. This time around it topped all cable broadcasts for the week and its 3.4 rating placed it as the fifth most watched show on television in the all-important 18-49 demographic, behind two NCAA games on the broadcast networks as well as The Big Bang Theory and The Voice. GoT also improved its position in the Nielsen Twitter Ratings as it moved up one slot to Number 3. The broadcast nets ran mostly repeats last week and that impacted overall viewership. The ratings for ABC’s Resurrection slipped, but its ranking in the Top 25 based on the 18-49 demo improved to the Number 15 slot as it leapfrogged Once Upon A Time (which slipped to Number 20) for the week. And because of the overall decline in ratings for the week, Agents of SHIELD managed to sneak back into the charts for the week at the Number 21 slot. Resurrection fell out of the broadcast net Top 25 based on total viewers for the week with the only genre entry there being a repeat of Person of Interest at the Number 25 spot.
