Chart activity for sci fi / fantasy TV shows for the week of March 31st through April 6th:
HBO’s Game of Thrones started off its fourth season with a big ratings win while also placing high in the charts. The series ranked fourth on the cable Top 25 based on total viewers, beating out everything except NCAA basketball for the week. And its 3.6 rating topped all but two shows that appeared on the broadcast network Top 25 based on the ratings in the 18-49 demo for this past week. GoT also made its mark on the Nielsen Twitter Ratings as it landed at Number 3 on that list. Expect the show to continue to chart for the rest of its fourth season run and HBO has already renewed it through its sixth season. On the broadcast nets, Once Upon A Time continues its late season surge as it improved to the Number 16 spot in the Top 25 based on ratings in the 18-49 demo. New entry Resurrection is going the other way, though, as it slipped to Number 20 while its ratings continue to slide. And Agents of SHIELD missed the cut for the week even though it pulled a 2.0 rating which the shows at the Number 24 and 25 slots also had. SHIELD must have lost out on the tie-breaker, though. In the Top 25 based on total viewers, CBS series Person of Interest landed at the Number 10 slot while Resurrection slipped closer to the edge at the Number 23 spot.
