The Charts: Resurrection Makes it to the Top 10, But Where’s Agents of SHIELD?

Last week there were no sci fi / fantasy shows in the broadcast network Top 25 based on ratings in the 18-49 demographic, but this week things are starting to pick up for the genre. ABC’s new entry Resurrection bowed impressively in the Top 10 at the Number 4 slot and Once Upon A Time returned strong in the Number 18 slot (its last new episode back in December did not crack the Top 25). Also, FOX’s revival of Carl Sagan’s Cosmos squeaked in at the Number 25 spot. Next week expect to see NBC’s Believe land somewhere in the Top 25 based on its Monday debut numbers, and there’s no reason that Resurrection and Once Upon A Time should not remain on the charts as well. Just as I predicted last week, Agents of SHIELD missed out of the Top 25 with the ratings plunge it suffered last week. That represents the first time this season the show has not made it onto this chart when airing a new episode and that’s why I have moved the show to bubble status in my latest Power Rankings. In the broadcast network Top 25 based on total viewers, Resurrection also made a splash as it landed at the Number 6 spot. And Person of Interest continued its tenure on that chart at the Number 12 rung.
The cable Top 25 was business as usual with The Walking Dead topping the charts once again and that show’s discussion series The Talking Dead not far behind. And TWD made its typical appearance in the Nielsen Twitter Rankings along with Teen Wolf. Also in that Top 10 list for the week was Cosmos which made it to the Number 4 slot.
