Description: Into the Badlands is a genre-bending martial arts series very loosely based on the classic Chinese tale Journey to the West. Why Was It Cancelled? This show started with decent ratings in its first season but saw those slip some in its second year then drop notably by its third year. The series is certainly expensive to produce, and apparently AMC decided that it was not worth it to keep the show going for a fourth season. This show has built up a notable following, especially internationally, and fans are currently lobbying for a fourth season, perhaps on another venue.
