Season 5 Description: The fifth and final season will find Captain Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) and the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery uncovering a mystery that will send them on an epic adventure across the galaxy to find an ancient power whose very existence has been deliberately hidden for centuries. But there are others on the hunt as well… dangerous foes who are desperate to claim the prize for themselves and will stop at nothing to get it. Paramount+

Status: This show will be ending with is upcoming fifth season. Executive producer Alex Kurtzman had indicated that he had a seven-year run planned for the series but apparently Paramount+ decided not to go forward with that. Jonathan Frakes directed the first half of the Season 5 finale and they did not know that the show was ending at that point. The final episode was later revised so that it could stand as the series finale.
