Status: Cancelled
Aired: 2015, 1 Season Totaling 10 Episodes
Network: TNT
Starring: Jennifer Beals, Matthew Modine, Joe Morton
Series Website: www.tntdrama.com/shows/proof.html
Description: Jennifer Beals plays Dr. Carolyn Tyler, who has suffered the recent, devastating loss of her teenage son, the breakup of her marriage and a growing estrangement from her daughter. Carolyn is persuaded by Ivan Turing (Modine), a cancer-stricken tech inventor and billionaire to investigate cases of reincarnation, near-death experiences, hauntings and other phenomena, all of it in the search for evidence that death is not the end. TNTDrama
Why Was It Cancelled: Though the series debuted with decent numbers and even made it into the cable Top 25 for that week based on total viewers, it then slipped into what I refer to as the “ratings noise” levels (0.1 to 0.4 scores based on the overnights for the 18-49 demographic). Other shows from Summer 2015 managed to get renewed at similar or lower levels like ABC Family’s Stitchers, MTV’s Scream, and Syfy’s Dark Matter, but they had international financing/partnerships and/or other intangible factors in their favor. And apparently TNT did not feel strong enough about Proof to let it prove itself for a second season.

I am EXTREMELY upset that this show was canceled. With all of the horrible murder shows on today, this was something my entire family of 5 would be excited about coming on every Tuesday night. If you take off all the shows that families enjoy, you are just helping our society to become numb to evil things. We need things back like Highway to Heaven, Little House on the Prairie, Happy Days. Can you please give us things to watch with good wholesome values…..
I work with teens and they have the same thoughts, they want better things to watch. The things on tv today just depress them.
Wish they could reconsider the show can only get better. The ratings would have been much better second season. All they needed was a little more advertising. People did not know about the show. So many are so disappointed in the decision to cancel.
What a shame we needed a show like that different, inspiring and exciting.
I absolutely agree. I was telling people about it all the time and each time they got hooked. This needed more advertising and more time for the community to find it.
