Description: When a beloved varsity quarterback disappears during the “Satanic Panic” of the late 1980s, a struggling high school heavy metal band of outcasts realize they can capitalize on the town’s sudden interest in the occult by building a reputation as a Satanic metal band, until a bizarre series of murders, kidnappings, and reported “supernatural activity” triggers a leather-studded witch hunt that leads directly back to them. Why Was It Cancelled? This show premiered in October 2024 with little in the way of promotion and it did not make it into the Nielsen Streaming Rankings during its first season run. It did score well with critics and viewers, currently holding a 91% Fresh Rating and 87% Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes. And showrunner Matthew Scott Kane had indicated that he had at least four seasons planned for the series. But Peacock has not been very good at supporting its originals, and they cut this one short and left it ending on a cliffhanger. There is no word on whether it will be shopped around to other venues, but fans will want to make some noise on the social networks if they want it to continue.
