Why Was It Cancelled? This series was kind of an odd fit for family friendly BYUtv and likely landed there only because of the Orson Scott Card Mormon connection. The network did issue a statement explaining their reasons for the cancellation stating that they do not “make renewal decisions based solely on audience size and the resulting financial impact of those ratings”. Instead, they “weigh the content and message of the series itself, its resonance with fans, its uniqueness in the TV landscape, and ultimately its ability to live up to our strategic aims as a content source that connects with families”. So essentially, the network decided that the show did not register well enough with its audience. There is no word at this point on whether creators Card and Aaron Johnston will try to shop the series around to other venues, but they do have plans for novels that will carry on the story.
