2024 Christmas Special: When Joy checks into a London hotel in 2024, she opens a secret doorway to the Time Hotel — discovering danger, dinosaurs, and the Doctor. But a deadly plan is unfolding across the Earth, just in time for Christmas. Premieres December 25th.

Status: This show did not make it into the Nielsen Streaming Rankings for its first season run on Disney+, and its viewership was also down for its airings on the BBC.  The deal with Disney is only for two seasons, and the Mouse House could back out after that if they are not happy with the numbers.  Ncuti Gatwa is also a highly in-demand actor, so it is possible he could exit the role at that point.  Considering that this show is an institution in Britain and recognized worldwide, I would not expect a cancellation to follow.  But it could go through some notable revisions to try and bring the audience back (Deadline has an extensive article looking at the show’s prospects at this link).  The spin-off series The War Between the Land and the Sea is set to start shooting in September 2024 and will likely premiere at some point in 2025 along with the fifteenth season.
