Weekly Roundup: Ratings results and status updates on all the currently airing sci fi & fantasy shows as well as those still awaiting word on their fates. For the latest ratings updates throughout the week, be sure to follow the Cancelled Sci Fi Twitter Site
Ratings Results of Interest: On Sunday, AMC’s supernatural drama NOS4A2 continued to fly low in the ratings with a 0.08 score based on same-day viewing for the 18-49 demographic and 385K total viewers. Unless that show has international financing propping it up, it seems unlikely these numbers will see it continue to a third season. Over on TNT, Snowpiercer held steady at a 0.31 rating with 1.1 million total viewers as it heads towards its first season finale (it has been renewed for a second year).
On Wednesday, Agents of SHIELD improved slightly to a 0.3 rating with 1.3 million total viewers. That show is in its final season. On Tuesday, Stargirl held steady at a 0.2 rating with just under one million total viewers. That show was just renewed for a second season (more on that below).
The rest of the shows held mostly steady in the ratings, and below are the numbers for all the sci fi and fantasy entries from the past week. Status Updates of Interest
For the status updates on all of the currently airing shows plus those awaiting word on their fate, go to this link.
Stargirl (CW/DCU, Airing/Streaming, Status – Renewed): Coming as no surprise, this show has been renewed for a second season and will air exclusively on The CW starting next year. It has performed well enough for a Summer entry on the network and has also been receiving good buzz in its first season. More on the renewal at this link.
Penny Dreadful City of Angels (Showtime, Season Ended, Status – On the Bubble): The numbers have been low through this show’s first season (sinking as low as a 0.01 rating), and even though the premium cable channels pay less attention to the same-day viewing, those stats do act as a leading indicator for viewer interest. This one is currently On the Bubble and fans may want to make a Call to Action on the social networks to bring more attention it.
